Progressive V-Bottom Hull

The hull features a progressive deadrise that increases toward the bow. It starts at 10.5° at the stern, increases to 13.5° approximately 1.25 m (4′ 1 7/32″) from the stern, and reaches 23.5° approximately 2.50 m (8′ 2 7/16″) from the stern.

This hull shape provides good stability at lower speeds and at rest, while the sharper forward sections help the boat move more comfortably through waves and moderate chop.

Storage and Interior Layout

The design includes two integrated storage lockers – one center locker and one stern locker. They provide practical storage space for fishing equipment, safety gear, batteries, ropes, tools, and other onboard accessories.

The floor width remains approximately 700 mm (27 9/16″) through the main usable area, providing a practical interior layout for two persons and their equipment.

Construction Method

The boat is designed as a fully welded aluminum structure. The bottom and side panels are made from 3 mm (1/8″) aluminum, while the frames, longitudinals, and transom are reinforced with 4 mm (5/32″) aluminum.

The relatively simple hull geometry and compact size make the individual parts easy to handle during cutting, fitting, and welding. Proper tack welding and a controlled welding sequence are recommended to maintain correct hull alignment and minimize heat distortion.

Difficulty level: Easy.

This design is well suited to DIY and beginner aluminum boat builders. Its compact size, relatively simple structure, and straightforward assembly make it a practical first or early aluminum boat-building project.

Previous professional boat-building experience is not required, although basic aluminum cutting, fitting, and welding skills are recommended.
